Wisconsin CLE Requirements

Every two years, Wisconsin requires attorneys to complete 30 CLE credit hours, including at least 3 hours of legal ethics, which cannot be earned via on-demand courses.
A minimum of 15 credits must be live (in-person or live webcasts), with a maximum of 15 credits from on-demand/recorded programs.

Wisconsin attorneys must complete their CLE requirement by December 31st every 2 years.

Wisconsin attorneys cannot carry over CLE credits into the next reporting period.

Wisconsin attorneys must report 30 hours of Continuing Legal Education (CLE), including 3 ethics/EPR credits, every two years by February 1 following the end of their reporting cycle.
Reporting is done electronically through the Wisconsin Court System's Board of Bar Examiners website.
