Gary has also authored three books of narrative nonfiction, including the critically acclaimed, New York Times bestseller Ship of Gold in the Deep Blue Sea. He currently serves as the Consulting Executive Producer on the BBC documentary Lost Gold, which will air in 2024 on the National Geographic/Disney+ channel.

In 2012, he created and founded WordRake—the first and still only in-line editing software for the legal profession—and now serves as WordRake’s Chairman of the Board. Adopted in thousands of law firms, corporations, government agencies, and universities, WordRake has been hailed as “Disruptive Innovation” by Harvard Law School, and awarded 12 patents by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
