Utah requires attorneys to complete 12 CLE credit hours every year. The 12 UT CLE hours must include at least 1 hour of ethics and 1 hour of professionalism & civility.

Utah attorneys must complete their CLE requirement by June 30th every year.

Excess credits earned before July 1, 2026, do not carry over. Starting July 1, 2026, up to 6 hours of excess verified credits (live / interactive) can be carried over, but ethics/professionalism hours may not be included. 

Utah attorneys have until July 31st every year to report their CLE hours earned.

Attorneys can self-report by logging into the Utah Supreme Court Board of Continuing Legal Education's Practice Portal and entering course IDs from certificates of completion.
