Rhode Island requires attorneys to complete 10 Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credit hours every year. The 10 RI MCLE hours must include at least 2 hours of ethics, and 1 hour of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Rhode Island attorneys must complete their MCLE requirements by June 30th every year. 

Rhode Island attorneys are permitted to carry over a maximum of 10 credits into the next reporting period.

Rhode Island attorneys have until June 30th every year to report their MCLE hours earned through the
Rhode Island Supreme Court Attorney Portal.
