Nebraska CLE Requirements
-
The Nebraska State Bar requires that all hours be earned by December 31st.
-
Nebraska attorneys must complete 10 hours of continuing legal education (CLE) each year, beginning January 1 of the year following admission to the NSBA.
Two of those 10 hours must be in professional responsibility (ethics). Up to five hours may be obtained through distance-learning legal education classes.
-
Nebraska attorneys may carry over excess CLE credits, but with limits: 5 excess credit hours may be carried over, but these must be live, in-person credits. Professional responsibility (ethics) credits and distance learning credits do not roll over. Carry-over credits must also match the original class type.
-
Log in to the Nebraska MCLE portal at the Nebraska Judicial Branch website, using your bar number.
Review your CLE transcript, and confirm and submit your annual report through the online system.
File the report by January 31st following the compliance period. Late filings after January 31st incur a $125 penalty, paid through the system.
